Giving students frequent instuction and practice in library literacy skills is the key to creating information literate adults. The library is the place where information is stored, calalogued, indexed, and available. The library media teacher, more than any other teacher, understands how to identify, locate, evaluate, and use information. A person who learns effective library research skills will also be an effective online researcher, but online skills do not translate into effective library skills. Information Literacy begins in the school library.
